Billie Holiday - Solitude (1956) Idk, what I can say that hasn't already been said since I'm sure most of you are at least mildly familiar with her work or sound. This isn't something I'm usually in the mood for, but it worked today. I've never bothered to give her a chance so I picked a random album and went with it.

Yesterday's album.. was busy af.
Jan. 25 Clare Maguire - Stranger Things Have Happened (2016) Love her voice, it reminds me of Cher at times. I enjoyed her first album, and this one was equally satisfying. |

No Pretense - Horror Epicz (2011) Ehh, so so. The beats were really interesting, it was like Stoupe meets Necro meets Horrorcore? or something.. Soul Khan - Soul Like Khan(2013) Reminds me of someone, having a brainfart atm. Pretty cool album, nice beats and good lyrics. |

Reco day... screw you guys, this thread is supposed to be about me..
Jan. 27 Fifty Foot Hose - Cauldron (1968) From Frown: Well... that was interesting? I feel like this is the beginning of all the noise stuff that Frown likes. The first half of the album was a song followed by a short sound sample track. Overall, it was somewhat enjoyable, but I was expecting it to be more like The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band than it was. Hamilton - Original Broadway Cast Recording (2015) From Pet Sounds: Okay, so it was better than I expected, but still not that great. It still had that musical sound to it that either doesn't hold my interest or annoys me. The hiphop Hamilton track was the best part. I only listened to the first cd (23 songs), I had my fill by then.

You were supposed to listen to the mixtape with all the features not the original recording. I have yet to even listen to the original cast recording.
I went to see it this past Tuesday and I've been playing the mixtape on a daily basis. Features include K'naan, Snow Tha Product, Residente from Calle 13, John Legend, Alicia Keys, Ashanti/Ja Rule, Usher, Nas, Wiz Khalifa, Busta Rhymes, Joelle Ortiz, The Roots, Chance the Rapper and a few more. I just remember those off the top of my head.

Still awake, guess I'll get an early start...
Jan. 28 Sieben - The Old Magic (2016) Slow and kinda boring, but it makes for decent background music. Might come back to it eventually. Message To Bears - Departure (2009) Simple, indie/folk instrumentals.
