Do you have fifteen minutes to spare to reach your quota?

What do you mean it's not February 14th?

Feb. 15

Another busy day, but I did get to something I've been wanting to for a while:

Ra Scion - Sharper Tool; Bigger Weapon (2014)
This guy is such a beast.. and Vox Mod killed it on production. For those of you who like more non-traditional hiphop you have to give this album a spin.

Minutemen - The Punch Line (1981)
From Frown: An entire album of songs near or under a minute? Eh. It wasn't bad, they did a really great job of grabbing your attention and honestly it didn't sound too choppy, but they could have easily made those songs 1-2 minutes longer and had a better album. I don't like short songs, you barely have enough time to get immersed before you are jumping on to the next thing.

I fail.. Work, school, sleep...

Thanks Chio. I liked that track, I'll check them out. I'm not familiar with them.

Nooo, you must look into Anna Calvi first! Her debut album. (At your leisure, of course.) Brian Eno did backing vocals on two of the songs! Also be sure to listen to her single Wolf Life Me. (a fantastic TV on the Radio cover)

I started to listen to Anna Calvi, but I haven't finished it yet. Tues-Thursday are my really busy days.

Chiomara 02-15-2017 06:02 PM

Oh, okay, excellent!

djchameleon 02-16-2017 10:21 PM

No Thursday albums?

@Dj - There is.. I was so busy yesterday I never even got on my computer and it's hard to do this thread on a cellphone.

Anna Calvi (2011)
From Chiomara: Excellent album. I feel like her and Florence Welch are very similar. There are some nice compositions on this album, but her voice is the main attraction. The songs I liked most were the ones where she was the most theatrical in her delivery.

Explosions in the Sky - The Wilderness (2016)
I guess it's like rock/indie instrumentals. Great for a chill day or background music, but I think I'd get bored if I actively listened.

Dargaard - In Nomine Aeternitatis (2000)
Found this searching for bob.'s new avatar. I'm digging it, it's like medieval ambient electronic kinda stuffs. Check it out.

Absolutely how I felt when I tried to review it. Very much the same, boring after a short while. Post-rock, in other words. Some of it really challenges me. To stay awake/interested, that is.
