The genre confuses me tbh.. When I hear punk I think of NoFX, Suicidal Tendencies, or Soldiers of Destruction, and I really don't find them enjoyable. Then Nea or someone will play something a lot less abrasive in plug and call it post punk(which sound nothing like the bands I mentioned), and I kind of enjoy it.
I'll take a reco if you have something you think I will like. |

I think that's too abrasive for him.

I sometimes forget I didn't like it on the first listen either, but now the idea that it would be abrasive in a negative way seems silly.

I actually think DWV might be more about post punk revival than OG post punk.

Never been able to care that much about the revival stuff I've heard. Old **** just has way more personality, even the stuff I don't like.

Igorrr - Hallelujah (2012) See! I like some things abrasive, I'm just really picky about it. I have no idea what genre this is supposed to be, but I loved it. TY to whoever played their first album in plug and introduced me to them. The Damned - Damned Damned Damned (1977) From elphenor: Not bad, and not at all what I was expecting. I really don't mind this kind of stuff. It's not something I'll go out of my way to listen to or have much interest in, but I did enjoy it. Thanks elph. Gang of Four - Entertainment! (1979) From Batlord: Again, not what I was expecting. This kind of stuff is not bad, there are just so many things I enjoy more that I never get around to listening to it. Honestly, the only thing really off putting for me at times is the sound of the guitar. I don't know the technical music terminology, but it's kind of high pitched and scratchy. Not a fan.. That aside, vocals are normal and not obnoxious and I liked the drumming (sometimes the cymbals get a little much but otherwise great).
