Have you ever noticed how, across large parts of the globe, Christmas gets bumped once a year?

That's my excuse for bumping this thread, even though it starts off with deleted posts from Zhanteimi and various expired YouTube links. Well, they're just the ghosts of Christmas Past, and anyway, if you do feel inclined to add a rec here, no-one has to worry about checking back to see if your song has already been mentioned. After all, repeating stuff, from traditional songs to last year's tinsel, is an essential element of Christmas; the celebrations are shot through with feelings of dejavu and nostalgia - warm and reassuring for some, cloying for others.

Someone on MB usually opens an annual Christmas thread in the Lounge, where we can brag about our presents, I mean wish each other well over the Christmas season, but this thread is just about the music, and here, to get us in the mood, is a song by Ian Felice, from seven years ago:-

Please don't make me post Christmas at Ground Zero again.

Well, it's not a title I recognise, so you clearly haven't posted it enough yet! But to spare you the trauma of posting; I've found it myself:-

EDIT: ...or rather, I have failed to post it as it seems to be well-protected, but the "Watch On Youtube" link works for anyone interested.

I've posted this in a different Christmas thread for a couple of years, so it's only fitting to spam it here as well. Merry Axemas.

David Byrne made a Christmas song this year. That's kinda fun!

I bought it (digital download) and was allowed to write him a Christmas greeting from our little fam. Hope he reads it <3

Nice one, Plankton! I particularly liked songs 3 and 4, neither of which I recognised - and track 5, once it really gets going, was perhaps my fave!

Thank you Lisna. It's a little hard to fathom someone not knowing Do You Hear What I Hear and Carol of the Bells, but I'm sure there's lots out there I've never heard. Different strokes for different folks.

<-- spiked 'nog.
