Default Leonard Cohen R.I.P.

At least he got to live a pretty long life, but still a big loss.

I saw him live when I was 15. He was surprisingly hilarious and put on a great show.

Ever since the release of You Want It Darker I knew it wouldn't be long... Wasn't prepared for it to be this soon though. Truly one of the most talented Canadians to ever live, and I'll be spending the rest of my night listening to some of my favourite Cohen tracks.

This is sad news. I never saw him live, but I really liked his music and what I read about the man himself; the calm eloquent outsider with the elegant suits and refined humour.

And there are so many good songs, so many great, thought-provoking lyrics, right up to his most recent release:-

I saw this article a few weeks ago and wondered if he was in ill health...

The New Yorker article referenced in the Guardian is quite lengthy and I'll include it here for anyone interested...

Damn, 2016 claims another one. I always think about the movie Exotica when I think of Cohen.

Devastated. We have lost some greats this year and Cohen casts as great a shadow as the others in my eyes.

RIP.

like Bowie....i cannot think of an artist that i love that does not site Cohen as a huge influence

i had the absolute joy to see him in 2009 and have to say he opened with Democracy which brought tears to my eye and they stayed there constant until he ended with Hallelujah which cause a water works

such an incredible loss.
