Most versatile band of all time.
Hi people.
What is, in your opinion, the most versatile band of all time? Some people say it's Queen, others say it's Frank Zappa... But I think that no band comes even close to Linkin Park in terms of versatility. Now, if you've only listened to the first two records, you might say that I'm crazy... But after "Meteora" they started experimenting a lot, and I mean A LOT. I'll give you some examples. Listen to these songs: "War" "H! Vltg3" "Pushing Me Away" (2007 Live Version) "The Messenger" "The Catalyst" "Until It's Gone" "Skin To Bone" "New Divide" Just to name a few. They go from Metal to Hip-Hop, alt. rock, electronica, melodic... But they're best known for mixing all together. Songs like "Figure. 09" are a perfect example of their earlier nu metal sound. If you listen to these song and don't know it's Linkin Park, you could easily think you're listening to different bands. |
What the **** are you going on about?

The most versatile band is Muse.

I hate that this site won't let you start a post with all caps!

That's a good one. hehe On another note, my daughter just posted "Led Zeppelin!" on bookface. Nothing with it, just "Led Zeppelin!". I think she found Led Zeppelin. Funny, her favorite artist at 8 years old was Jeff Beck. |
Let's see if you're right.
War - This surprised me. This is punk rock. H! Vltg3 - ****ty hip hop Pushing Me Away (2007 Live Version) - ****ty piano song The Messenger - ****ty power ballad The Catalyst - ****ty hard rock Until It's Gone - decent alt. Rock song Skin To Bone - also alt rock... though ****ty alt rock. New Divide - more alt rocrock. So you said they're more versatile than frank zappa? I don't know his discography well enough to comment so I'll let RYM comment. Quote:
