Black Midi is a new genre that's a bout creating music using midi software that's visually pleasing so to speak as well as audio.

No because it utilizes quite normal midi structures. Only played at high speeds and with noise elements.

Maybe it's that I'm not super familiar with midi, but what normal midi structures? Isn't midi just a language that allows computers to communicate with instruments?

I mean most of it falls under a single genre or style. Not educated enough on it though.

Found this fascinating video that's about the OG black Midi artist before midi was even an idea.

I didn't watch the video, but Nancarrow's piano pieces are superb.

Is There an album of his stuff?

Studies for Piano Player is where I heard his piano pieces.

I'll have to check it out when I get a chance.

Would you consider black midi to be Avant-Garde? It's definitely a unique style of music that's doing some stuff that's new (to me at least).
