Time in a bottle by Jim Croce.
A slow song that doesn't bore me to death and builds up a mood just fine.

No question about it - I'd choose the chimes of The Clock of the Long Now.
Brian Eno composed the clock's chimes which occur in a different sequence at solar noon for 10,000 years. He produced a prototype album of Bell Studies for the Clock of the Long Now, issued on Opal Records in the UK in 2003... ...but I would choose the actual chimes of the clock in real time as my song for life.
