That's usually exactly what it means.

Total misconception. And what "numbering system?" Just because I estimate the amount of albums I listen to, there is nothing to hint at me not actually feeling the music. You're saying I don't feel the overwherlming emotions in Bridge Over Troub;led Water, which I love BECAUSE of it's emotion? What abouyt my Popol Vuh review? That was all about the feelings and imagery I got. The fact that I'm not good at speaking the emotions I feel when I listen to an album doesn't mean I don't feel anything.

Your goofy 1-100 rating system.

Speech and thought are two different things. They might go hand in hand a lot, but no one will tell me I don't feel anything.

Simon and Garfunkel, one of my favorites because of their powerr to envoke emotions. Nick Cave, one of my new favorites because of his way of combining his artistic talent with his unique sense of darkness and depression. I play happy songs whenever I feel like I need cheering up. I don't listen to Meat Loaf very often anymore because I tend to get angry after listening to it. And his music is FULL of anger. I got srriously depressed during my long AiC buzz a couple years ago. I even got people to understand the difference between punk "angst" and grunge "angst." You can't really do that without feeling the emoiton. Music has had a huge impact on me emotionally, but I prefer not to talk about my emotions on the forums because I'm trying to get a hold of my emotions. You know how agitated I can be, so why bother talking about my emotions? Because of this, I'm not good at speaking them.

You mean a common rating system that's too smart for 1-5 stars?

No one on Earth rates an album a 91 except you. Cause no one can tell the difference between a 91 and a 92.

I'm gonna back up JGuy on this one - people typically assume I'm an emotionless robot because I can be a fairly stoic kind of person. Even in stressful situations, I try to keep an even keel, so people assume I must be emotionally stunted or something. I'm actually a very empathic person and I listen to music to sort through a lot of the emotions I have a hard time communicating.

You can't assume someone doesn't have emotions just because they have a hard time articulating them.

Unless they've heard enough albums they would put above 9 and below 9.5. And if it's not so common and people don't do it, why do so many websites allow people to choose which rating system they'd like? These includes a 5 star rating, 1-10, 1-10 including decimals, and 1-100. In flact, Glitchwave is doing that.

P.S. Glitchwave is RYM's video game website that I occasionally do beta-testing on.

And another good reason why I don't express my emotions on the forums is because I have a history of people taking advantage of my lack of self-control.

"This music is very emotive."

Boom.

Something a robot could say. It doesn't actually mean anything.

Yeah, no. If you think you can tell the difference between single points then you're probably just being delusional and OCD.

To be fair, a robot can say pretty much anything, so long as it isn't a paradox.

I was initially just being a little trolly, but if you put it simply as that it'll convey the same idea, even if it's not in as much detail.
