Even with genres, I definitely have favorites that I heavily concentrate my acquisitions on, but depending on how you count them, it's 30-something to over 50 different genres. So even with favorite genres, I might not hear something in that genre for a month or whatever.

With favorite artists who don't have large discographies, it can easily be years between listens.

I've got around 55 bands that I consider my favourites, so its pretty hard not to forget someone for a long time.
