Post-1975 musicians who have recieved honourary titles
I'm interested in knowing some musicians who began their career after 1975 who have recieved some sort of honorary title. This includes the British honours MBE, OBE, CBE and a knighthood/damehood, the Canadian honours Order of *province*(O_) and Order of Canada (OC), and the Australian equivelants. I'm not counting honours such as the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame.
I'm not aware of the United States and Ireland having such a system, although there may be a handful of musicians from these countries who have recieved honours from British Commonwealth nations. The USA has the Presidential Medal of Freedom but it doesn't appear to have any title like the Order of Canada and Order of Australia do. These are the musicians that come to mind: *Kylie Minogue (OBE) *Sting (CBE) *Bono (honourary knighthood) *Damon Albarn (OBE) *Annie Lennox (OBE) *Midge Ure (OBE) *Bob Geldolf (honourary knighthood, although he returned following the Brexit vote) The Wikipedia page for Liam Gallagher claimed that he was an OBE several weeks ago, but I was unable to find further information about this, and the page has since had the honour removed, so I'll assume that the page was vandalised. I'm sure there are others, but who? I don't want this discussion to be either for or against the honour systems - I'm just interested in knowing. |

Two others would be PJ Harvey and Adele, both of whom recieved MBEs in 2013. The Corrs have also been given honourary MBEs, however I don't know whether they can use that title or not.
