I think their songs were more melodic than Blur - it's just that Liam's vocals have a nazel value, and this makes their music modaretely unlistenable at times.

One band seen by many as Britpop which I prefer to both Blur and Oasis is James. Their song "Born in Frustration" (1992) sounds like a prototype "Speed of Sound" by Coldplay (2005). Neither of my parents agree with this - do you hear the similarity? It's mostly the atmospheric sound and chord repetition, I think.

I consider Madchester to be a subgenre of Britpop - it was clearly a huge influence on it, to say the least.

Kinda but then again they aren't the only band that sounds like The Beatles. idk much about Oasis and most of what i do know is their popular hits and some of them do sound like The Beatles.To me they kinda sounded like The Beatles with an alternative twist and tho im not a big fan of them i do like a couple of songs by them.
