Music you hate because your ex-girlfriend liked it...
It happens all the time: your girlfriend (for whatever reason) is enamored with whatever band, so you have to temporarily pretend to like them (because you're soft like that). But then comes the nasty break-up, and you move from potential apathy to hatred...
I can't stand the Smashing Pumpkins (theoretically... I still enjoy their music at times) because of my ex. I especially don't like Billy "despite-all-my-****ing-rage-I-am-still-just-a-****ing-rat-in-a-****ing-cage" Corgan. He's bald. There's probably something wrong with me for thinking this way.

My girlfriends tried to get me to like...let's see....
1. John Mayer 2. UnderOATH 3. The Used 4. Queen 5. Hawthorne Heights 6. Atreyu 7. Ben Folds 8. Ryan Cabrera 9. Jojo **** that ****. The truth is...I'm not soft like that and don't listen to the music I don't like because of peer pressure...that's ***.

i cant think of anyband ive pretended to like because of a girl, if i didnt like the band, i let her know straight up "dont play that **** when im around". Luckily, me and my old lady have the same musical interests.

I had to bring my ex to a Jimmy Eat World gig, but there was a mix up with the tickets so I was thanking God (Conor Oberst) when eventually some nice guy decided to help us out and we finally got in. "****e! I thought...well at least we missed the support, they were probably some whiney emo crap". Got home and my friend rang me to say "Wow! I cant believe Maximo Park were supporting! You were that guy he pulled up on stage werent you!" Ha-ha-****ing-ha...That was a happy birthday, especially since we broke up a week later!
Oh well, at least I got to shout JEW! JEW! JEW at some whiney American prats...

Placebo
I never really liked them that much but I was prepared to tolerate them on her behalf. Ever since we split up I can`t stand that short arsed androgynous smurf sounding little sh*t

I've never heard them described as such.
