I think this is as close to "most influential" and furthest from "personal favourite" that I can get. I didn't include Richard Dawson (the best freak folk artist) since his influence probably only extends to here, so I'm proud of myself for that.

Changed my vote from Banhart to Buckley because Buckley kicks way more ass.
