People can vote for whatever reason they want as long as the bands have black metal under their belt, even for one album. If that's absurd, then having Sex Pistols as one of the big 4 of punk would be just as absurd because they only did one album, while other famous punk bands have done more. Maybe not the same analogy, but it's about the same level of absurdity. Besides, if he thinks their black metal sound is better than most other black metal bands, why not vote?

EDIT: Plus, I literally just got done with Marrow of the Spirit. I can confirm that album is pure atmospheric black metal.

Saying they aren't black metal is absurd. Their sound definitely is driven by heavy black metal roots, but they just incorporate the atmospheric elements much heavier than most others do. Would you call WITTR black metal?

Also, Big Four doesn't mean the most influential/important in this thread, if so I would have used Mayhem and Bathory in my list. It's more about personal favourites.

I was under the assumption it was about importance this whole time. Now I'm not as mad.

I still wouldn't call them black metal. The words black metal would probably appear in whatever I do call them though.

Wittr is perfect and flawless black metal.
