Except for Iowa, that album is tight.

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

Ah, whatever. It's all opinion, anyway.

But keep in mind you don't have to vote based on improtance. You can vote for any reason you want, even if you want to list the worst, I don't care what the criteria is as long as the bands fall within the genre.

EDI: Hybrid Theory is the most generic thing I've ever heard. It's born for radio. Still, it's actually pretty good.
*criterion

I don't know if 311 is nu metal, never heard anyone call them that. I only seen them on Wikipedia's List of nu metal bands. The other three ... not a clue, they just have OK names.
  1. 311 (if 311 isn't Nu Metal then go with Alien Ant Farm)
  2. Static X
  3. Stereomud
  4. Powerman 5000

311? Perhaps. Definitely have the rap, funk, and metal influence but they aren't really... dark like the other bands. But then again I guess S.C.I.E.N.C.E. isn't too dark either.

OK, perhaps take 311 off the list. So what about Alien Ant Farm, Powerman 5000, Stereomud, or Static X are they Nü Metal enough to be on the list? Does any of those bands meet the different criteria to be considered Nü Metal? ( ... assuming there is more than one criterion to be classified as Nü Metal).

Pretty sure 311 are just ska. Static-X might be part of the same cultural zeitgeist that nu metal was from but I really don't think they qualify. Maybe an influence, but definitely not nu metal. And I can only remember ever hearing two Alien Ant Farm songs from back in high school and I don't remember anyone ever thinking they were nu metal, or even metal for that matter.

So scratch 311, Static-X & AFF. OK, how about Chimaira and Sevendust?

(Thanks for your help in advance)

Don't know about Sevendust (possibly?) but Chimaira are metalcore.

I don't know how the hell a ska band gets called nu metal, but this freakin' cracks me up! I've gotta play this band now. Never heard of 'em until today.
