Folk punk would be dope -- I have a pretty exhaustive knowledge of the genre, if I do say so myself.

I don't but i think i know enough to do a big 4 on it.

I rather Jguy made it about folk and kept the definition vague enough that it accepts folk punk artist. that way i can mix Daniel Johnston with the violent femmes. folk punk is a little too specific.

Results this up-coming Friday, JGuy gave a half-way report on Monday.

Sex Pistols – 6

Dead Kennedys – 4
Clash – 4
Stooges – 4
Bad Religion - 3

So there's a three-way tie between Kennedys, Clash, and Stooges, with Bad Religion surprisingly picking up from behind.

Nu metal is next, but I'm not completing punk until friday. That's when people can submit their nu metal votes, because I'm not rereading a whole thread to find votes for a round we haven't started.

**** Dead Boys. Boring ****ing band who deserve none of the credit they get. Peter Laughner and David Thomas were right to kick them to the curb when they broke up Rocket from the Tombs.

Am I missing something here, I thought next up was thrash metal?

How could it possibly change from thrash metal (one of the greatest metal genres of all time) to Nu Metal? (one of the biggest jokes of all time)

Long story short, bat and a couple other people were up for it, but later many more people wanted nu metal pretty badly.

To make it interesting: Since voting happens less during the second half of the week, votes for deciding the next genre occurs during the last half of a round, starting Tuesdays. That poll closes on Thursdays.
