Generally I don't judge a band for their name. I prefer to judge them for their music.

"Phony/Authentic" is a nonexistent metric in my assessment repertoire.

It was just an observation that Metallica is the worst band name I've ever heard
Yeah, I don't know if I would have okayed "Metallica" as a band name if I had been a member of the band at the start. I probably would have preferred other names.

"Anthrax" certainly wouldn't have struck me as a good name either, though.

Or "Megadeth." I think I like Metallica as a name better than both of those.

A lot of band names seem like names I would have vetoed if I'd been in the band, actually.

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

This looks like a Nea vote. I've never heard of any of these bands. Thrash Queen lol?

F)ck off & grow up elphenor, no one cares about your ill informed negative views on music. The first three Metallica albums are widely regarded as some of the greatest thrash metal albums of all time. I would personally argue that they are the gold standard for the genre.

It will be interesting to see who replaces Anthrax on here for the big four

Metallica
Slayer
Megadeth
Suicidal Tendencies

I looked up the bottom charts on RYM. I'm sure they're all awful.
