As far as I'm concerned, Bieber's black metal tag is as offical as all those 10/1 reviews for Cory in the House on the DS. I don't think anyone's going to vote him for black metal. Plus, we already had a black metal round.

@Ki Using very innacurate sources as an official source is part of the cause that other wikis are unofficial. Most people can't tell one genre tag fropm another.
OMG that's not the point. Last.fm's tag system can and has been abused, and seems to be less immune to troll editing than Wikipedia.

This is true. And like I mentioned before, the wiki pages are usually moderated within 24 hours of them being changed. They don't allow for things to get off base, and the heavy moderation is part of why wiki is known as a much more reliable source as opposed to how it was a few years ago.

All I can say is Last.fm has gotten people a lot of eligible votes on the first try. And I haven't seen anybody abuse it here. And if they do, anybody here can go to the wiki and edit the page so they can count their own votes. If you want, next week wikis will be allowed, but not Wikipedia at all. We'll see how it pans out.

And by "wikis," I mean sites like Wikipedia and Wikia. Places like Metal Archives are totally allowed, which should come in handy for next week's thrash round. If there's a good punk alternative to Metal Archives, that's definitely allowed. I don't know what site that is, though.

Metal archives is a far worse resource than wiki.

Look, I gave you an option. Do you want me to allow wikis next week?

Yeah, I agree it should be allowed, too, especially over something like rym, which is often insular, uptight and rather moronic (including for genre tags--in fact, that's one of the things rym most tends to be a combination of uptight yet moronic about). Also note that on rym, just one person can vote for genre tags and that's the genre tags something ends up with then. Obviously most artists being mentioned in this thread are going to have more votes than that, but if the artist has some less popular releases, those might be tagged by just a handful of people, and those tags will show up as genres for that artist.

Or how about you drop the stupid rules....and respect people's opinions.

I personally think that post hardcore has a very specific sound...and completely disagree with COWS, Shellac, and Big Black as being labeled post hardcore...but I could give two ****s if you think they are...and do respect Frownlands, Exos and your opinons

Norg obviously has no clue about this genre....and has basically thrown his vote away....who cares!....why invest so much emotion in that?

I don't consider NoMeansNo post hardcore either and in obviously a minority on that

And Brand New sucks :-)

How about you drop the stupid complaining? There was no emotion in me questioning Norg's vote. Duh. You people were fine with the rules until now.

I've brought up how wikis aren't allowed multiple times. And I already said I might include them next week. I'm really busy right now, so I'll just forget about including wikis next week if there's anymore discussion about this.
