****loads of people. It's not uncommon at all for people to tire of strictly playing metal and turn to jazz.
Huh. Well, how many are as good as Skolnick?

Seventeen. It's growing a lot since there's a good amount of bands coming out where you're not sure if they're jazz or rock/metal.

And no, I don't think their reunion album counts, since A) it was released when thrash was over, and B) it basically sounded like a retread of Victims of Deception.
That's a weird criterion. Do as you do I guess.

Oh ja, there's also Death Angel. Also, all of the hipster wankers might band together and vote Vektor in.

Would you say that a band with one brilliant album could be a Big Four band?

Sex Pistols made Big 4 of Punk. I mean, they only had the one album, but it's still perfectly legit since it's practically the best punk album ever.

Death Angel had a great debut, but after that they had diminishing returns. They've had some alright reunion ****, but in general have not lived up to their past potential.

If they recorded it in 1979 then I wouldn't consider them, but since they were a first wave band that basically created the London punk scene they definitely deserve a spot.

Didn't we recently have a discussion on how time period should have nothing to do with opinion? Either way, Sex Pistols would easily make big four based on just any one of the following:

1. Overall influence of the genre
2. Quality
3. Popularity

And with just that one album, it might have easily gotten in top punk lists even after 1977. Another good example is Refused and their third album, which got seriously good reviews. Refused reviews. Heh. But their first two were pretty meh in terms of all three criterion I mentioned.
