I am not talking about opinion. I am talking about picking artist that you (pl.) like. If this thing was real than Charley Patton should be in the top for but he's not. So if the outcome of the game doesn't reflect convention why are you so jonesing for me to stick to convention? That is the irony of it all.

Why not just follow the rules? Or rather, if you don't know what delta blues is, why did you even vote in the first place? This isn't "delta blues so vote intentionally for piedmont blues instead." Either way, you would've broken the rule. You really don't have any legitimate reason to complain to me about the mistake you made. m I only use other websites to decide whether they are eligible, and then I let you know if any of the votes aren't. It's like playing a crossword puzzle, messing up because you don't care about the rules, and then tell me your loss is my fault for not making the rules the way you'd see fit.

I mean, are you just freakin' protesting? If that's the case, I might not check your votes at all under the asumption you're trying to break the rules.
OK I was bending the rules not breaking them. You accepted Mississippi John Hurt, Blind Willie McTell and Rev. Gary Davis all under the assumption that they were considered Delta Blues to at least to someone on RYM. If I hadn't said anything only I would know they were actual Piedmont Blues artist. I am not protesting for the sake of protesting. It's more like a philosophical question. If Mississippi John Hurt, Blind Willie McTell and Rev. Gary Davis play ragtime guitar, and Elizabeth Cotten also plays ragtime guitar, then why not her? It's a question, not a protest.

So because Charley Patton didn't win, you think this game is pretty much a dud? I said from the beginning that it's a game for fun and for getting into new genres. This thread never had anything to do with an official "opinion." That's your assumption.

People assume I act like it because I use RYM as an argument against things like "It's weird to consider Pink Floyd prog," not against "Pink Floyd are not prog." The only reason I stick up for them is because I'd rather trust RYM than Wikipedia.

Not "someone on RYM." Either they were voted consecutively by users to be delta blues because that's how the genre system works on that wenbsite and allows the multiple votes to construct a best-of-the-genre list that collects the opinions of all users, or they were consectutively tagged as/officially tagged as delta blues in the databases (not the forums or user lists) of other music sites.

And the answer is: The rules are the rules. I don't get to decide if other websites call her delta blues. The issue still remains that you intentionally tried to vote for non-delta blues artists because you admittedly don't care about the differences between the genres and it's likely you don't even know what delta blues is because of it. And you say I'm making hno sense by calling myself an expert? I've known what delta blues was for more than a year before this thread got started. I knew Son House, some Muddy Waters delta blues, Mississippi John Hurt, and a few others who have partaken in it. This system I have is the best I can come up with for determining who gets in.

Besides, if this was just a little question, then why did you avoid delta blues artists and admittedly not care and choose non-delta blues artists in the first place? You make it sound like your own vote was delta blues based at all.

Bottom line is Elizabeth was not qualified. Nothing you say is changing your vote now because it's too late for that. There's already a big four. And you should understand now. The answer is that I could not find a source for Elizabeth Cotten claiming her as delta blues, no matter how hard I tried. And I seriously tried with your vote so you woulodn't put me through this ****.
