Default albums you tried getting into?

Ever listen to an album that was recommended to you by friends/family and you tried to get into it but just for the life of you, you just couldn't?

For me the album was Goo Goo Dolls' Gutterflower. I've always liked the GGDs but this album was just too much. I noticed they were beginning to turn in Dizzy Up the Girl. I think Iris really was a turning point for them. You could see a change of direction was coming in A Boy Named Goo, with Name. Its not a ****ty album by any means and it scores quite highly on Allmusic. I just couldn't get into it.

Anything by Daniel Lopatin. I've tried, dammit!

Anything by TV on the Radio. They're dead to me now.

Anything by Super Furry Animals. Nope.

Anything by Sonic Youth. I much prefer Thurston Moore's solo stuff.

Their first few releases were great, but definitely a case of diminishing returns with the later material.

I hear you on this one. They also some how seemed like they should be good (I think maybe it was the cover artwork) but they just never delivered.

A big one for me was Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. I gave this album so many chances because I heard such great things about it, but it still just sounded like bland, squeaky clean, Glee-ish boredom.

Dear Science > Return To Cookie Mountain > Desperate Youth, Bloodthirsty Babes > Nine Types Of Light > Seeds

I enjoy all thoroughly except Seeds, I can live without that one.

Lemonade by Beyoncé. Further perpetuates my disdain for that hoe.

Aren't her and Rihanna the same person?

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

It goes exactly in chronological order for me. Never bothered to check out Seeds.

That's one of the first albums that came to mind for me as well.

No love for OK Calculator? I've personally never listened to it.

I have it and it's pretty terrible, but it's just a homemade demo and you could at least see the potential of what it was about to lead up to. I don't really think of it as an actual release though.
