Hi everyone.
I'm looking to increase my knowledge of music, especially of the past decade, I want to get a sense of the rise and fall of artists and genres and what music has been doing whilst I've only payed attention to those few things in those even fewer niches I really like. To that end I'd like to hear what albums you consider to be influential (so I can learn what has created most recent trends) innovative (to learn where new ideas have come from and what is being done on the cutting edge) and last but not least GOOD! (basically so it's listenable) I know endless debates about what is good or innovative etc can be had, hell, you can even argue what those very words mean! But regardless, please list any and all albums that you think qualify as good examples of the traits I mention. If you can think of albums that are quite arguably all 3, so much the better. Finally as I mentioned above the focus is on recent music BUT I will not say no to a good suggestion that's older, especially if you make a convincing case as to why it's worth listening to. Thanks guys! |
