OK, what I am getting from this is that the OP wants to know "Was there music written before 1965 that sounds like it was written after 1965?"

And the answer is: well, there would have been some in 1964. And there might have been some in 1963, though not as much.

Of course, if you count post-1965 bands that happened to be retro, there was quite a lot. You could say that a lot of the 50's rock 'n' roll sounded very much like retro bands of the 70's and 80's, such as Daddy Cool or The Rubettes, or The Stray Cats.
