Phoned in britpop (a genre that's quite lame on its own) and standard fare trip hop don't get me going the same way that it does for other people.
I guess I'll exclude Portishead because they're just kind of neutral for me.

Britpop was a horrible trend in the 90's, minus Blur.

I'm not familiar with most Britpop artists, but I like Mansun, Kula Shaker and Supergrass a lot. I know a few tunes from others here and there, but I wouldn't say I like someone a lot if I only know 1-3 tunes.

And there was nothing "standard" about Dummy at the time. It helped create the standard that few if anyone reached afterwards - Massive Attack did with Mezzanine. You can be disgusted all you want. It doesn't mean your words are true. |

Also, please refrain from double posting. Wait a minute to see if any new thoughts come to you before hitting post, if that helps.

Apologies. I will do that. Only just seeing the Inference link. So you inferred that I was a fanboy of Portishead? I guess we can dismiss your claims that my statement were "just butthurt fanboyism" as I am not a fan. Also, to address the point about Suede being bad songwriters. I suppose what they wrote about nocturnal London spoke to me a lot in 1994 and that has stayed with me ever since. I am indeed a fanboy of Dog Man Star as it is one of my favourite albums ever. Not everything I was listening to in 1994 has stood the test of 20 years. Certainly not Oasis or Blur. Last edited by tonyttt31; 08-22-2016 at 11:58 AM. |
