Default Whatever happened to...

Not talking about long defunct bands or deceased artists here but what about those performers who just seem to 'disappear'?

Some take an indefinite haitus, such as Talk Talk or The Las (are Mark Hollis or Lee Mavers either rich enough not to bother anymore, stuck with writer's block or simply lazy these days)? or Jona Lewie - nothing since 1980?

The Blue Nile release an album every four or five years. What does Paul Buchanan do all day?

Anyone else you can think of who has apprently vanished from the music scene?

Not really vanished because they are apparently touring this year but Bon Iver are hardly prolific.

Let's just hope that they went somewhere that banned recording equipment so that they can never assault us with their awful music again

Apparently, Robert Bell (bassist and synth player for The Blue Nile) is working with some of the members of Japan on something which is pretty cool. As for Hollis, I believe he retired from music to raise his family; but as far as I'm concerned, his solo album is the best album ever made, so what a way to go out.

Ruth Underwood comes to mind. She just stopped playing at some point.

Nice thread, i thought about doing this concept too but i never did it cause i thought no one would care so good on you Floydy.

Orgy and Fastball came to mind. i honestly don't know if either band is still playing but i remember once upon a time they were on the spot light and though neither band were all that great i thought they would stick around.

Nobody in this thread has made a Full House intro song reference. I'm disappointed in this forum.

Whatever happened to Lauryn Hill? In 2013 we got two singles from her that beat anything off of The Miseducation of... (Fugees>>>her solo work though) with no full length album follow up.
