Default Looking for a specific type of song.

I'm looking for a very particular kind of song.
It doesn't have to feature a singer, but if it does, then it has to be female. I'm gonna assume that any suggestions will have a singer, so here's how I'd like it to be, although it does not have to be pin-point exactly like I describe:

It needs to be a song of sadness, hopelessness, and determination, in that order. Not sadness as "Oh I had a boyfriend but we broke up", but "I faced a lot of general hardships in my life and I'm close to giving up". (real emo, I know)
I want it to be a song about a person who has lost everything, but is determined to go on because of a promise or sense of duty or just because they won't let the world beat them.
It probably shouldn't be too specific with the lyrics. I want to write a story with the song, not have the song write the story.

It has to be melancholy in the beginning, preferably without lyrics, at least for a little bit. Just some quiet tones to establish the feel of the song.
Then some somber lyrics with a little bit of a kick in the music to get started.
I want the music pacing to instill a sense of fighting, desperation, near-break down, and finally new-found determination and hope. Between "fighting" and "near-break down" I want there to be a build-up and a climax, then quiet tones and a new build up for the big explosion at the "new-found determination and hope" that carries the rest of the song to its end. (think lying in the darkness then seeing light appear.)

I realize that the easiest way to get what I described is probably just to make the song myself, so, like I mentioned, it does not have to be specifically like I said; my description is just a guideline.

A song kinda like what I'm looking for is "The american dollar - twelve days awake", albeit with less of that particular kind of guitar, and more piano. (and more "power" at its climax)

Please, if anyone know any songs even remotely similar to what I described above, let me know.

Well, at least nobody could accuse you of not knowing what you want.

How about this one?

Damn, I'm not sure. Here, try these.

This one has that hopelessness, over type of feeling, then it gets bigger and bigger, which makes you feel like there is hope, and you want to keep fighting... :P

This one has no lyrics, but depending on how you look at the song, it can make you feel hopeless, sad etc... or happy, with hope for a brighter future.
(Very different song from the first one)

Not sure about the determination bit but have you heard the song Zero by Lamb?
