Journal Showcase
Probably a crap idea, but bear with me. Most of we who write journals write pretty much in isolation, hoping someone will come read (and maybe even comment on) our work, but there are a lot of people who don't even go into the journals section, so I thought this might be an idea, to post some examples of your work and see if people perhaps talk about them in a way that didn't happen when you posted them in your journal, or maybe it might encourage more members to check out your journal(s).
I'm perfectly willing to accept this may be seen as a bad idea, so I'm throwing it out there to you guys: is anyone interested and would there be a point?

Are there any noticeable flaws in my journal I should fix? It's mostly a personal project (hence the lackluster album reviews), but if I could make it more interesting for everyone I'd be down with it.

I haven't read it I must admit, but maybe post an extract or article here, and you may get some more constructive feedback. Like I said in the OP, a lot of people don't even visit the journals section, so this could be a chance to get your work assessed by others who would not have read it.

Seems fine to me. Could it be improved? Hell, yeah, but then couldn't all of our journals? Personally, I would have included a video or two, talked more about tracks (even if you only concentrated on a few or even one, give a better sense of what the reader/listener can expect) and maybe include a tracklisting.
But that's just me.

That was probably one of the better reviews. I think my latest one was three vague sentences long. Part of that is I'm just too lazy to re-listen and re-listen to get a better feel to write more.

Don't know about the others, but I personally really like track by track reviews, wedged between an opening statement wit some background info and a closing statement with the overall impression.
And it should be seperated into paragraphs and overall look structured. When I see wall of text reviews or very short ones, I usually don't bother. Well, I don't bother anyway if it's not an album I know, am already interested in or if it's by a user who I know has a similar taste to mine. Man, I sound really anal...
