Thin skin doesn't work here. Took me about 2 days to figure that out. Lighten up man. Some people really dig when bands are a juke box live. Some people dig when bands step outside of the box. This place happens to have more members that fall in with the latter.

Have you noticed how all of the regulars here bust each other's balls every chance they get? It's an ongoing theme and keeps the place fun and unpredictable. One of the reasons I like hanging here.

Nothing worse than a sterile generic forum.

Chill man!

I wonder whether this is the parting hissy fit we all have been anticipating.

Edit: Apparently not.

No, the ideal forum is where everyone pats each other's backs about their opinions, regardless of whether or not they actually agree with them.

Stage 5: Violin bow episode including echo-slapping from the guitar; interlude with Plant's 'instrumental voice'; Gustav Holst's Mars, the Bringer of War and return of the rhythm section
Stage 6: Fast guitar solo and battle with Plant
Stage 7: Slower tempo solo and 'funky' moods
Stage 8: Violent breaks and call and response interlude
Stage 9: Faster solo in crescendos and occasional break-up tempo, some occasions combined with "Walter's Walk" or "St. Tristan's Sword"
Stage 10: New arrangement of Mars, the Bringer of War (slow and fast versions) and final frenzy
Stage 11: Return to main theme
Stage 12: Coda. Final instrumental and vocal battle inside syncopated rhythms, drum-solo and final explosion.

Longest version ever was at the LA Forum in 1975. Clocked in at just over 45 minutes
Not to mention mixing up the lyrics to unfamiliar parts that almost no one can memorize.

The pissing-on-each-other's-shoes is one of the main reasons I drop by here. In the real world, people take themselves (and others) waaaay to seriously.

MB is a symbiotic safe haven in which people of all colors and creeds are welcome to channel their inner douchebag.

Where did I ask for a sterile, generic forum? Isn't what I'm asking for is a modicum of respect for a discussion topic? If I responded to your post as I was responded to- "if you don't like it, get the **** out", would it not seem rude and childish to you? Yes, I've noticed that the "regulars" bust each others ball- and I've also noticed that sometimes it goes WAY beyond that. And it doesn't seem like "fun"...like in this thread. Disagree with the mob, and some go into attack mode- not with facts, not with ideas, but with insults, f-bombs and stuff that has no place in adult conversation. Is that so hard to understand?
I don't care if 99.9 % of the members here prefer a band to improvise or be "artistic", that's their choice- and they should post about it. What I do care about is that the discussion of the topic should be civil and interesting, with members posting their opinion supported by experiences and facts- which some did, thank you VERY much- and not utter nonsense that consists of non-topic links, flat-out insults, and silly name-calling.
