Default Question about the new blink 182 album. and barkers recent comments

so he said recently that the blink album is gonna be awesome, might come this summer, and that they have 15-20 songs.

and he said something like we dont know how much we will write until we have 12 songs we want to put on the album.

now my question is, and what is bugging me, why not include 15-17 songs on the album ? id rather get 15 new songs than 12 lol hopefully they dont limit themselves on that, if they do only choose 12. they better be the best 12 of those 20 songs.

When artists make albums, they usually don't want to plague it with length. Length can really kill some albums, becoming redundant after a while. Double albums/ones of considerable length are usually only released when the songs are strong enough to back this up. These releases are often highly varied. Thus, 10-12 songs/30-45 minutes is usually the ideal length for a studio album.

Most of the time all the songs from these recording sessions come out anyways, as B-sides, on deluxe editions, and leaked through the internet nowadays. But, more likely than not, the strongest songs will find it's way onto the album anyways. While these other songs can be good, usually the culprit is that they don't always fit nicely on the album.

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

Oh of course, I'm really interested to hear what Skiba will bring to the band. Out of curiosity, did you ever listen to that huge Teenage Time Killers thing?
