The Eagles were the third rock band I fell in love with ever. Just switched on the radio, and, of course, "Hotel California" is playing. RIP. :(

As someone who grew up in the 70s (as many here probably did), it is really bizarre to be watching all of these people who've provided music we've grown-up and lived with now dropping like flies, only to remain in memory and in their music. Rest in peace, Glenn.

I must say that's very disrespectful. The guy's hardly cold and you're already finding fault with him. I saw a documentary too, and from what I saw, it was Felder who was the problem, and ended up getting kicked out of the band. Whether or which, I think it's in very poor taste to be making those sort of remarks on the day the man died. How would you like if someone had said that about Bowie here last week? Shame on you.

I picked up Glenn Frey's solo CD once upon a time, was surprised at a) how much I actually knew on it and b) how much I enjoyed the ones I didn't know. A real creative guy, the heart of the Eagles with Henley, and will be sorely missed. Such a pity, as I feel with Long Road Out of Eden they were just beginning a renaissance that could have taken them back to mainstream success.

The journey of the sorcerer is over, and I guess now Glenn is on the long road into Eden. Rest well, my friend. Your music formed the soundtrack for much of my youth.

Even one of his closest friends and band mate called him "bullheaded," and you find fault cause I said 'Yeah he sang "Take It Easy," but can't say he did.' I am an Eagles fan (just like the few Rock fans here are) and I've seen them in concert too. I remember seeing a Rockumentary on the Eagles, which probably aired cause they were touring. While watching the doc and watching the history of the band unfold, and seeing the band dynamic I began to side with the underdogs i.e. Bernie Leadon, Randy Meisner and Don Felder. They had their side of the story and he had his. Like I said it's about band politics, he seemed not to take it easy when it came to dealing with other band members. And that's reason I said 'Yeah he sang "Take It Easy," but can't say he did.' I wasn't trying to be mean, disrespectful, insincere or disingenuous.

Maybe he mellowed with age, and seen things differently, idk. Now whether or not Glenn Frey made kept in contact after they were no longer part of the band I don't know, to me that is more important than concert numbers, album sales or how much money is made. I do remember Paul saying in retrospect he would handle things differently with Pete Best. I'm guessing Glenn Frey had the same sentiments.

There's no need to say you didn't care for him and then point out the bad things he did in his life. If you didn't like him or had an issue with him, don't bring it up on the day he died in his RIP thread. That's just so crass and in the very worst taste.
Perhaps not, but that's how it came across to me. And why even say it? Like I said, if someone had gone into the Bowie thread, or anyone else who died recently, and made these comments they'd be called out for it. Nobody is a saint, but you don't expect people to dig up grievances with or criticisms with you on the day you pass. I think it was a very ill-advised thing to do. It may have been taken up wrong, but the point is, why say it? It was not necessary.
