My tongue is bleeding.
Glen Frey was a total dickweed based on everything I've read/watched. And from what I've learned of Henley he's only coming out with all of the "he was my brother" BS in order to boost RIP album sales. Had a bud who went to see them on one of their last dozen or so farewell tours and he paid a couple extra hundred for an after show meet and greet. He said they acted like total jerks and were about as impersonal as a human being could be.

The coolest person I met was Dick Dale. He waited after the show and talk to every single last fan who stayed behind to see him. No extra money to see him either, and he signed autographs. I got a Strat pickgaurd sign by him. I got to meet Steve Morse and I got tongue-tied, I didn't know what to say, but he seemed really cool though. Met Vince Martell from Vanilla Fudge, he was cool as **** too.

It's really very simple- Frey and The Eagles made some timeless music, sold tons of records, sold out tons of concerts and made impacts on the lives of many people. He was also a flawed human being, downright nasty at times. I can separate the two, and appreciate the music while also reviling the man.

The only musician I ever met was Judie Tzuke (who?) --- interviewed her and her guitarist Mike Paxman for my website at the time. Two nicer and more accommodating people you couldn't meet.
I had to pinch myself to make sure I was there. She was a real crush and heroine of mine when younger. And you know what? The old cliche is true: she was much shorter than I thought she would be!
