Forgive me, but I never took you for a fan of Grateful Dead. Your taste always surprises me.

It shouldn't. They're the only band I listen to.

A.) I'm lazy.

B.) I listen to mostly pre-00's music, and almost no post-10's music.

C.) I'm more into keeping track of new comics, due to the nature of the medium.
Almost? Please tell more about your futuristic listen habits.

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

First off who the **** just has 50 favorite bands they can just name at all times? Secondly, why the **** would I want to follow that many artists closely? Seems like a lot of extra work that I don't want to have to do. Right now I follow 3 or 4 artists closely and that's it.

I'm a music die hard. So in other words. I am constantly looking for new music to be immersed in. I even manage to stay current on pretty much everything I listen to. It's not really difficult at all to follow bands an individual listens to. I know for me it isn't.

How I try to divide up the time I have for listening to music

25% for music I am very familiar with and already love.
25% for music I've heard before, know is good or great, and want to understand more deeply.
25% is for music I've never heard before but I already respect the composer.
20% is for music I've never heard before at all and know very little or nothing about.
5% is for music that didn't make a positive first impression but I still feel inclined to see if it grows on me.

I keep journals in my phone and notes in books and magazines and take screenshots of album covers and all kinds of things to keep track but it's impossible for me not to forget a lot of stuff but I really do try to take in all I can and maximize the value of my listening time.
