Remember he long ago sand this:

Didn't know what time it was and the lights were low
I leaned back on my radio
Some cat was layin' down some rock 'n' roll 'lotta soul, he said
Then the loud sound did seem to fade
Came back like a slow voice on a wave of phase
That weren't no D.J. that was hazy cosmic jive
There's a starman waiting in the sky
He'd like to come and meet us
But he thinks he'd blow our minds
There's a starman waiting in the sky
He's told us not to blow it
'Cause he knows it's all worthwhile
He told me
Let the children lose it
Let the children use it
Let all the children boogie
I had to phone someone so I picked on you
Hey, that's far out so you heard him too!
Switch on the TV we may pick him up on channel two
Look out your window I can see his light

That basically sounds like...

God said all this "rock'n'roll" you're hearing on the radio blows ass, so here's what you should do...

I approve either way.

On the Blackstar track I Can't Give Everything Away it quotes musically from New Career in a New Town from his Low album.

Yeah thought that was a really nice touch. Great melody, and referencing that track may suggest he's starting a new career in a new town metaphorically by dying and moving on to the afterlife.

I've listened to Low dozens of times so I recognized it instantly. My Bowie love all started with that album. I had Heroes for a while but it was kind of a backburner. Then when I found out he'd recorded with Eno it really took my respect up a notch.

Dude recorded with so many amazing musicians, engineers, and producers.

Not to mention all of his collaborations.

I'm in the process of listening through the Berlin trilogy right now.
While Heroes is an album I've listened to countless times, it's been a while since I listened to Low and even longer since I listened to Lodger.
Love all three albums, but Heroes is my clear favourite.
Eno is always a great addition, as is Fripp.

Hmm actually I just read Eno contributed to the Heroes album as well. For some reason I thought he wasn't involved on that one.
