Default Defining Genres
Genres are something I've never really focused on or understood for a lot of music so I thought it would be nice to create a discussion about them. Discuss/debate the defining elements of genres/sub-genres that you know about.

After reading many forum discussions I am particularly interested in the Metal breakdown and Punk.

Genres don't really matter, except when someone on MB uses the term 'industrial' wrong.
