I wouldn't really count Esperanza Spalding, though its not like a thread about her would exactly take off here either.

I don't think Janszoon gets enough recognition on the forum.

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

There's way more conversation about hip hop here than Latin music.

Jazz doesn't get enough recognition not only in this forum but by music nerds/fans in general. And for me, Jazz is far more interesting than rawk and hiphop music. I'm not even going to mention classical music (but it's also a genre I haven't explored much).

Which jazz? We talking John Coltrane or Pat Metheny?

John Coltrane, Ornette Coleman, George Russell, Charles Mingus, Albert Ayler, Charlie Haden, etc. etc. and many others. The Jazz top albums beat the rock top albums by a wide margin IMO.

The best apples beat the best rocks by a wide margin.

Don't be simplistic around here. You will not last long.
