The Album Popularity Contest Thread

Hope Mordwyr doesn't mind me robbing this idea from him. I saw he was doing this for his own albums in the "What are you listening to" thread, and thought it was an interesting idea, so I'm making a thread to sort of expand the idea.

And the idea? Well it's incredibly simple, and will take almost no effort. Someone posts an album. Any genre you like. Even your own if you want. Everyone then votes it a Yes, No, Maybe etc and the more votes it gets for Yes, the better its chances of making it into the roll of honour as it were. If you haven't heard the album you can Vote n/a, if you're listening to or intend listening to it, maybe put Pending.

You can comment a bit on the album if you like, and you can use things like Hell Yeah or A Thousand Times NO but your basic vote must be some version of yes, no or maybe. Anyone can post an album at any time, and once the votes for an album have reached a higher balance on one side or the other it will be removed from voting and placed on the roll of honour.

So only you (TH) post the album and people vote on it, then at some time you edit the opening post and change it to a new album? Ir anyone can post an album anywhere in the thread? Who will tally all the votes? I think the votes should be in bold as such:

Um, do you not read so well? I said in the OP ANYONE can post an album at ANY TIME. Where did I say only I can post an album? Eh? Answer me that.

I will of course tally votes. And I will, if this gets popular, keep a running total for each album in the OP. Happy?

Well what I thought was you wanted people to make an album proposal you would pick the album that is to be voted on. Like you did in the Prog thread, you know the one ...the one you kicked me out of.

Not really, and it never even got off the ground. This may crash and burn too, but we're not pitting one album against another here. It's a simple case of yeah, nay or may.

Yeah but I made it totally clear how this was to go. I can't help what you personally took from it, but unlike other threads where the premise was somewhat unclear to some people, I think everyone here got it from the off.

With one exception.

Also, let's set the record straight about the PRAC: you wanted to just breeze in and out of that, reviewing when you felt like it and ignoring albums you weren't interested in, while the whole point of the PRAC (may its proggy soul rest in peace) was that EVERYONE listened to EVERY album and gave their opinion. You tried changing the rules for you, and everyone knows if I'm nothing else (and I'm not) I'm a stickler for rules. So you only had yourself to blame there.

Guess you had the last laugh though: wasn't that you I saw dancing (out with the moonlit knight) on the poor PRAC's grave? Or is it a case that You can't dance?
