Here in Puerto Rico the only music you can publicly play out loud without any complains are Salsa & Reggaeton. Reggae and Ska are also somewhat acceptable but Metal or any Hard rock are frowned upon.

What about ska punk? Just eyebrow raises or major complaints?

Of course, it could depend on the balance of ska and punk too. I could definitely see why Leftover Crack would be objected to.

My experience with acceptable ska punk is largely limited to Operation Ivy, who are most certainly acceptable.

that's accepted too.

There's a small musical scene here where all variations of Ska/punk/reggae are fairly popular but that kinda music is only known and accepted in those circles, the music you hear blasting outta the cars or in houses is always Reggaeton or Salsa unless they are dominican.. they play Bachata.

You haven't experienced Crack Rock Steady? Man... you seriously need to get on that. Spin Mediocre Generica ASAP.

Bachata. I've heard some of that. Honestly, I don't know what my opinion of it is though, and I certainly haven't been exposed here in the states as you probably are on a daily basis.

Hey though, if guys down there accept ska, it can't be all bad.

I'm lazy about punk in general, since so much of it sounds the same. And I'm not that big a fan of pure hardcore, so when I want punk I either go to the Sex Pistols or Dead Kennedys, or go all the way to metalcore.

Yeah but this is crust-ska. At least one lf the tracks even has a strong black metal presence.

Will give it a try whenever the hell I feel like it, and I'm lazy.

^I could see you being a really big crust punk fan tbh. Not too familiar with crust ska, though.
