I was in college and found my genre which was New Wave and Synth.....I had gotten really tired of the music being played on the radio at the time and so I went "I want music I will listen too!....synth? I need more synth." so I typed "Synth" into Myspace......yup that long ago and that was were I thought "I CAN GET NEW MUSIC HERE!"......well shush....cos I found Freezepop and this song.
The end of that story is I spent the entire summer off college in 2007 listening to all their albums at the time....and ruining my back from being hunched over playing Shadowrun for 16 hours a day. Momus - I want you but I dont need you, came at a time that I was having some relationship troubles, I found this song via Amanda Palmer covering it and like a lightning bolt not only the tune struck me, it was the lyrics. It was the sage like advice I needed at the time. Every since then I need to keep this song in mind to keep me from getting into dramary bull**** once again. |

This song and 'hag' were the first songs from the breeders that really blew me away. what blew me away from this song was the guitars, especially the rhythm one and how Kim's vocal melody stood well alone with just the guitars. it instantly sounded like a tropical surf song or something like that but then when the bass and drums come in they add an alternative vibe to it as well.

Since it's Christmas time at the time of writing this........ I stumbled upon this very beautiful version of "Oh Christmas Tree" that just struck me as the most beautiful, heavenly version I've ever heard. What impressed me the most, apart from the crew of Boney M being able to conjure up that long lost childhood fantasy, that erodes as we get older, but also that slow deliberate pace at which they deliver this lovely song. Even if you don't like Christmas music, the pretty Christmas tree's are worth taking a peek at. From Russia..............it's

Why, it's an awesome song.
Toad the Wet Sprocket Love the slow build and how intense it gets. I'd give my left nut to have this guys voice. Also love the production. Fit's the song perfectly. Guitar tones are great too.

Just the topic I needed. I've been having another regular day this week sifting through my playlists in my car, but this one stopped me on my tracks and I'm mesmerized.
It doesn't even feel like any music, but a hymn channeling directly to my soul.
