When I first heard Townes Van Zandt I pretty much had these two songs on repeat...
Love the dark, phantasmagorical atmosphere to the music and lyrics. Feels like a dream of a ghost story, or a ghost story that makes you think you must have dreamed it. Just so nihilistic and relentlessly melancholy. The man instinctively knew how to tear out your heartstrings.

You can't go wrong with any of his early works, but Our Mother the Mountain, Townes Van Zandt, Delta Momma Blues, and High, Low, and In Between are the albums which currently have my soul. Especially Townes Van Zandt.
