This thread reminded me to manually enter all of my Discogs.com purchases from the last 6 months into RYM. But every time I set myself to this task (routinely a few times a year), I encounter the same problem - the RYM database with regard to specific pressing data is leagues behind Discogs, and I can't find existing entries for nearly half of the LPs I purchase.
I know the expectation is that I take the time to build entries each time this happens, but it seems like a waste when Discogs already has a detailed profile for every LP I own. I'll always go to RYM first when researching the history of a genre. That's where it really excels. But for cataloging, Discogs beats RYM hands down. And the recently-launched official Discogs app makes it even easier to manage or reference my library while I'm out crate digging in the wild.
