Cool Any fans of Belgian music? (+ Belpop-chart)

Hello, I was wondering if any members were fan of Belgian artists/music in general?

Current music? In the past? How many Belgian albums and/or singles do you own? Which genres?

I decided to make a list of some of my favorite releases of the last weeks/months. Hope you'll like it!

I'm from Belgium originally, but have lived in the states for a long time. I've listened to a few Belgian bands but have never found one that I truly liked. I'll have to try a few of these.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

I think the only Belgian artists I'm familiar with are Stromae and Front 242. Between the two of them that probably puts my total collection of Belgian music at five or six albums. I'm always open to checking out new music though!

Front 242 performed what is more than likely my favorite 2nd wave industrial song...Kiss the Anus of a Black Cat are one of my all time favorite bands and he is from Belgium

There's a lot of great AvantProg from Belgium that I love.

Univers Zero, Present, Finnegans Wake, Aranis, The Wrong Object, X-Legged Sally, Kings of Belgium, Flat Earth Society, (anything with Pierre Vervloesem really), Trank Zappa Grappa in Varese?, Cro Magnon, Die Anarchistische Abendunterhaltung...

Nah, I'd never make the mistake of thinking they were Belgian.

Cromagnon: American 60s weird-ass psych
Cro Magnon: Belgian 90s chamber prog band

I always thought dEUS was the 'biggest' belgian band but as nobody mentionned them i guess i was wrong. I still strongly recommend their album called 'The Ideal Crash'. Apart from dEUS, i only know about Zita Swoon and Stromae.

And also some fast hardcore bands but I don't know if it interests anybody here.

dEUS is one that I've listened to, they do seem to be one of the biggest from Belgium. That said, none of the stuff I've heard has moved me very much. A good track here and there, but that's all.

Front 242 is the only Belgian band I've ever really been an actual fan of.
