You're still in the minority. If everyone else wants to take that kind of approach I'll look at it, but so far all I see is Frown and Batty just baiting me --- I know Batty loves writing smart funny reviews, and loves to hear how he's emotionally scarred those he recced, and Frown just loves to take potshots at me and disagree with everything I say no matter what it is --- and you talking about changing the system.

So speak up, the rest of you. Anyone on the signup sheet: are you happy with things as they are, or do you want to change? Despite Batty's claim, I'm no dictator, and if people want things changed --- if the majority do --- then that can be arranged. But like I said, I won't change it for one or two people. Needs of the many and all that.

So, what say you?

Reviews make this thread more fun.
But if someone doesn't want to, why should they be forced?
Better to have someone participating this way, than not participating at all.
I think most of us will still write a few lines. It sure won't kill this whole thing.

Hey. I love to take potshots at you and disagree with everything you say no matter what it is, too.

This is true. I didn't mean to downplay your Trollheart-baiting abilities.

Are we talking about Anarcho-communism, anarcho-syndicalism, mutualism or (god forbid) anarcho-capitalism? Or something else?

The way I look at it, you either play properly or not. If the attitude of Terrapin was reflected in or shared by other members, then fine, but why should one person be allowed to just do what they want while the rest follow the format? To be honest, I'm the reverse: I'd rather not have someone like that participating. Like I said, play by the rules or don't play at all.

Edit: Look at it this way. Would Batty allow someone to vote in his Metal Survivor thread who decided they wanted to vote after the deadline set? For all his slagging of me about rules, it's his own rules that allow his thread to thrive and go forward, and you can be sure he wouldn't change them or make an exception for one person. I believe his answer would be something like "If you don't like it, **** off out of my thread."

I spent a lot of time and energy putting this together and trying to make it work, and I'm not about to dismantle it or change it because one newb isn't happy with how it's run.

To be devil's advocate, TH, that's pretty ease to say that when you're the person who came up with the rules...

That being said, I have no major issues with the way this is being run. I don't think trollheart's asking anyone to spend hours on their reviews.

Because one isn't a militant conformist and/or control freak?

Depends on the elapsed time. If other people have already started voting on the new battle then hell no. You're officially interrupting the thread. But if they're a few hours late, even if I've already done the pain in the ass work of counting the votes and updating the OP, then I don't mind. I'd rather get a more representational result than be a slave to the rules.

Hopefully length will torture you (hee hee!), even if the band doesn't.

Yeah, I'll start off by saying I actually enjoyed this album. You pretty much predicted that I wouldn't hate the music, but the real test would be the length.

However, in all honesty, I just listened to it all the way through and rarely found myself being that bored or hating what I was hearing. Especially with the music occasionally drifting into a different territory ("Your Life is Over", for example).

I don't really think there's too much else to say. I'm not going to review the album, but I would recommend it to fans of Noisecore and other more noisier styles of Metal.

Torture level: 0%
