Sorry about the late response. I did give this a listen and what I came back with was a whole lot of "meh". It wasn't terrible, and I consider it somewhat of a positive experience as I have had very little exposure to "power/progressive metal". But my problem was that I just didn't engage with it at all. It faded into the background and left hardly any impression.

My favourite songs were "Heaven" and "Song of Roland".

Overall, I'd say the element of torture was pretty minimal when it came to the music, but the general lack of interest caused me to consider skipping through it.

10% torture rating

I did, and marked it up in the OP accordingly. You're one tough dude! I can't even remember what possessed me to buy that bloody album! Oh, and yes you can of course: you can rec an album to anyone you haven't recced already, but they all go in order so if you rec one to me it won't be done until after the others in my queue.

Listening to it now. Standby for my review in about an hour.

Dude, you listen to everything. This is like Christmas shopping for that person who has everything and just returns all their gifts for cash.

Yeah indeed. Major props to the first person to successfully torture Goofle!

Here are some of my least favourite albums for reference. Though I rarely listen to the kind of album TH suggested, so it's slightly skewed.

Here's one for you. Short, but terrible.

All of your least favorite albums got a 1.5. If I recall your music reviews here, you gave just about everything you listened to 3.5. You are noncritical of music.

Christ I forgot about you and the Disintegration Loops. Guess I can give you some great similar ones to it and hope you change your unrighteous ways.

I don't talk about rubbish music man.

Also, the first album TH sent me wasn't completely intolerable. I was playing GTA online at the time so I will listen again soon and write a proper response.

Hey, sorry about the lateness of this. I forgot about this thread. I hope I've not inconvenienced Trollheard, The Buttlard or anyone else. Granted, it was something that I listened to a week ago, but I'll do my best.

Coming from an era where vapid pop tunes are mostly entirely expected to be bangers, I was sort of surprised that the album doesn't really ever pick up, remaining in a sort of vague arena of music that would be better as vaporwave than music. It also fails to bring any really memorable hooks to the table (with the exception of "Hit me baby one more time", which might just be memorable because its been drilled into everyone's collective consciousness by then teens and the radio. I also think I was barley old enough that this song was still circulating to a certain extent by the time I was cognizant of what differentiates one song from another, or whatever).

I remember a duet at one point that just sort of trailed off into mehland as well as a song featuring some sampled cuban drums (I think). I actually rather enjoyed the later (it's one of the more energetic tracks). There was also a point where there was a guy who sounded like that rapper on Rebecca Black's Fraiday I think.

Britney's voice is interesting in that it's not terrible enough that I'm mostly not accutley aware of the fact that it's bad. It's sort of just good enough that the listener stick around to be annoyed as much as possible. I mean, she's really not a good singer. Not pitchy or anything, just monumentally boring.

But there's really nothing on this album that stands out as irritating to the point of repulsing me. I'm probably not going to listen to it again, but I think I mostly got through it without a hitch.

I hope that's enough to convince you that I did indeed listen. Again, it was a week ago so I'm doing my best .
