Songs with a progressing intro
 
Not sure that is the best description but...

The best example i can think of at the moment is Deep Purple - Smoke on the Water.

Starts off with that famous guitar riff, then the next bar the cymbals are added, followed by the snare on the next bar, and then lastly the bass line is dropped in.







Maybe AC/DC's Thunderstruck is another example:





Can you name some more tunes that do this?

I'm sure loads of songs follow this formula. How about Weird Fishes? Starts with drums and then you get those harmonic guitar lines building up, and another layer of drumming later on.
