I came across these lyrics, what does it mean?
 

Hi all, I came across this lyrics on the internet:

my heart is slowly shifting
while you are getting closer to me

I really wonder what this song is about and what do they mean by shifting?

I have 2 theories:

1. They are falling in love.

2. (defun AllYour () (setq (- Users (UsersBase)) AreBelongToUs))

You know, putting the lyrics in Google will give better results.

A few possible explanations:

• This was some random shit pulled from the diary of some moody-ass 13 year old.
• "Shifting" as in, shift yourself to some shit that wasn't clearly written by someone with absolutely no literary talent whatsoever.
• The purpose of this fucktardery was to ensure that the aliens would never even think of visiting earth ever again, after coming to the conclusion that there is, in fact, no intelligent life here.

Has to be this. There are no other possibilities that are as plausible.

I'm sorry lil, but I know quite a few twenty somethings capable of writing lyrics that are even worse than these. Even worse, they don't hide them in their diaries out of shame but show them to the world as if they're ****ing proud of them.

I used to be on Linkin Park's forum, like back in 2000-2004 or so. And I'd post up lyrics I'd written here or there, 17 years old and I felt like I was writing lyrics so deep, that they were responsible for carving out the Grand Canyon or some lame sh*t like that. I was this celebrated lyricist there for however long I was around haha, and my lyrics were probably worse than most back then. I'm a lot better now!

I think the first line is misquoted. I believe it should be:

"My arse is slowly shitting", and this would refer to a rather violent Mexican meal consumed the day before...

Im one them but i'd like to think mine are a better than the ones he posted.

Don't feed the trolls. It's obviously his act. You can sneak your way to stardom. And certainly not with those lyrics.

My two cents:

1. You need to be less cryptic and more honest with your writing
2. You need to internalize that these feelings aren't unique, and almost universal, and therefore the writing has to carry it, not the concept.
3. Stop listening to nu-metal, a genre full of people who ignore rules 1 & 2

I guess you meant you can't sneak your way to stardom? Anyway, it's fun.
