I've heard 16 Horsepower referred to as goth country, their Sackcloth n Ashes album is ****ing brilliant. OP may wanna look into that if you haven't already.

I like O'Death a lot, and I like Elliot Brood and 16 Horsepower somewhat. So I guess I like gothic country but am not much of a follower of it.

i'm a big fan of all three of the bands Janszoon mentioned...but when someone says "gothic" it's bands like Bauhaus, Christian Death, Alien Sex Fiend and Sisters of Mercy are the first things to pop into my head
