I need the full definition of "Dad Rock" and then I'll let you know.

So basically anything that isn't modern music garbage.

I like how all the entries were clearly done by young people (i.e. the people who decide what is and what is not dad rock), except for that one entry which was clearly done by either a bitter dad rocker, or a mindless classic rock drone who lets the opinions of Rolling Stone magazine take the place of his own.

I'd like to note that avant-garde dad rock makes no goddamned sense.

And here's another (this is basically my thread).

Might have been made by one of those wrong generation kiddies.

Rolling Stone hated Led Zeppelin for what it's worth.

I pretty much try to play music from all decades but will of course default to a 70s tune now and then. But I mix in a lot of newer songs. Based on all of this it seems that:

Dad Rock = Stuff I don't like or is too popular, and therefore I must discount it.

And lots of avant-garde stuff from my "era".

For me, dad rock is boring rock that only old farts could love.

Definitely true, but none of that avant-garde stuff can be called dad rock.
