John Coltrane - Interstellar Space

About 5 minutes of this album and I feel like I'm going to have a panic attack.

Huge fan of that record. Hopefully he comes back to this thread instead of opting out like a lazy, drunk baby like I thought he did.

I've tried a few times but I just can't get through it. It disappoints me because I'm a big fan of Coltrane so I'm keen to see where he took it but I seriously just find it really freaking stressful.

I think that might be why I like it so much. Given that Coltrane was dying from liver cancer at the time of the recording, his rushed (or stressful) and very raw approach to improvisation captures his soul when faced with death, although I don't know if he knew of his disease at the time of his death. Rashied Ali is also very badass, of course.
