In mine and several other people I've met, this track suffers from Stairway syndrome and we're all sick of it.

To me that song is cool everytime I hear it. I'd go so far as to say it's their best song, so hearing it all the time never bothered me. I mean a lot of great songs get overplayed and it doesn't bother me like Bang a Gong by T. Rex. That song still rocks whenever I hear it. Stairway I can kinda get, it's a great song and everything but it's not really one of my favorites. Personally my favorite track by them is the live version of Rain Song from the album The Song Remains the Same.

It's cool because of the 7/4 time signature, which somehow grooves like a mofo, and the three completely different tones to the guitar solos. Super dry, super wet, and super vibey.
But ya, it's been way overplayed in its 40+ year history.

Even though I find Gilmour a little full of himself at times (not anywhere on Dark Side btw), he ALWAYS just nails the tone.

How you digging that fuzz pedal? I was able to ape a lot of Gilmour stuff with it.

I've heard it every now and again on the classic rock station around here. I had no idea who the band was back when I still listened to that station, but I was always confused why that song didn't get more airplay than ****ing "Hotel California".

It's such a great song with some killer studio tricks going on considering how old it is. Bolan's vocals alone are amazing.
Somewhere Lil is smiling (and probably getting wet).
